Thank You: Veterans Day 2011

Nov 11 2011

11.11.11 is certainly a unique and important day. Leaving my neighborhood early this morning it was refreshing to see a great deal of homes flying American Flags at the foot of their yards...

RD2 Version 5

Nov 9 2011

Eight years ago we launched our first website. Now, we’ve finally released our latest website that we internally call “V5.” We never really have hated any of the websites we’ve had as a company, but our last one was like a set of clothes we had worn for too many days in a row. It was too dark and too dreary relative to who we are today. Since V4, we had quite a number of portfolio pieces to celebrate and lots and lots of news that has happened through the years. Redoing your own website, especially when that’s what you do, is never an easy task. In our company we have high expectations because of the different things we have learned to apply for our partners...

RD2 wins North Texas Business for Culture and the Arts 2011 Obelisk Award

RD2 is no stranger to producing innovative tools that exceed the wildest client expectations. We are also no stranger to receiving overwhelming praise (and even the occasional squeal of glee) from our clients. Yet we were shocked, flattered, and even dumbstruck when we found out that the Asian Film Festival of Dallas had nominated us for the North Texas Business for Culture and the Arts (NTBCA) Obelisk Award, celebrating and honoring businesses and business leaders in North Texas whose support makes a significant impact on the region’s arts and cultural growth...

RD2 Announces #KnowFair Winners!

Oct 31 2011

It’s finally official. After countless petitions for recounts (Team Hen insisted that the ballot was confusing), we have a winner of the First Annual RD2 Know Fair! State Fair Competition: Team Hog! Believe it or not, the winner was decided by just one vote! While we all had fun, don’t fool yourself into thinking that plans for redemption haven’t already begun brewing (or frying?). Winners will receive the following prizes: The ability to gloat for one year, one trophy to share, and some “congratulatory” brew...

Today Is The Day! #RD2 #KnowFair

Oct 21 2011

Today is the First Annual RD2 Know Fair! Competition and we are chomping at the bit! Our official shirts arrived last night (Thanks to Patty for picking them up and for being so quick to print them!) and they look great. If you should happen to be at the Texas State Fair today, if a group of people sprinting around juggling beers, corn dogs and smartphones doesn’t give us away, these shirts will hopefully do the trick.

Rules and Submission Guidelines

The scavenger hunt has very few rules. 1.    Keep it creative 2.    Keep it clean 3.    Keep it on time 4.    Keep it only images (no supporting text)

Each team’s submissions will be made via the RD2 blog...

RD2 Know Fair! Competition 2011
Yee Haw!! Get Ready For The RD2 First Annual “Know Fair!” Competition!

This year, RD2 is crying, “Know Fair!” about the Texas State Fair and launching our very first annual scavenger hunt competition. We’re going to be putting our creative minds and photographic skills to the ultimate test and asking all our loyal, somewhat loyal, or even Fairweather Johnson fans to help us decide the winning team...

Rishi Dave On RD2

Oct 18 2011

It’s humbling to work with smart people like Rishi Dave. He’s seriously one of the smartest people I know. Rishi is a hard driver and a tremendous partner of RD2. He’s been our counterpart on many successful Dell initiatives. Rishi is the Executive Director of Online Marketing at Dell. He’s has degrees in Chemical Engineering and Economics with Honors at Stanford University. Rishi also holds an MBA in Marketing from Wharton School. Sheesh!!

Just last week I had the chance to catch a few seconds of Rishi on camera to get his feedback on working with RD2 during the Dell World Conference in Austin, Texas.

Rishi also is an avid runner and cyclist...

Meet Grant Dalton

Oct 4 2011

Twice now we’ve had the unique opportunity to work with Grant Dalton and his team at Emirates Team New Zealand. As I mentioned in a previous post, Grant is one of those guys who seeks adventure at every turn. He’s sailed around the world (many times), he’s done some insane motorbike tours, he’s run an Iron Man, and now he’s launched a social media blog for Emirates Team New Zealand… and along the way it all feels like another adventure...
