STA Travel – World Traveler Internship 2011 Website

Every year STA Travel chooses two Interns from a group of applicants and sends them around the world for the summer. Along the trip the Interns take photos, record videos, share updates via , and blog, sharing all of the content on the World Traveler Internship website.

In 2011, the itinerary included 16 destinations: England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia, Austria, Slovenia, Germany, Nepal, China/Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, and Brazil.

We added some new functionality to the 2011 website including:

• Flowplayer Integration: We integrated Flowplayer on the website, simplifying the process for applicants to submit their videos.
• Registration Process: To streamline the application process, we implemented a “quick registration” process that allows the user to create an account and start filling out their application without leaving the website. We’ve broken down the Application into four distinct sections.
• Sharing Capabilities: We’ve added “Tweet” and “Facebook Like”, seeing a lot of success from other campaigns we’ve worked on with the STA Travel team including Change Your Perspective and Eat, Pray, Love.
• Interactive Trip page: Check out the Trip page and hover over a push pin to view details on each destination.
