Southwest Airlines selected RD2 to design and develop their first entries into the world of blogging.
“Nuts About Southwest,” the first corporate blog in the airline industry, features posts and pictures from Southwest employees at all levels of operations and management. On the “Adopt–A–Pilot” blog, pilot authors contribute stories from their flights, aviation–related lessons, and inside information on Southwest Airlines for fifth–grade students in Southwest's innovative “Adopt–A–Pilot” program.
Both blogs showcase design that embraces Southwest's spirit of fun, friendliness, warmth, and efficiency. Behind the design lies cutting–edge technology and innovation in HTML, CSS, and content management.
In the latest release of Nuts About Southwest, RD2 enhanced the site’s functionality to incorporate a Video Blog, a Media Center, Podcasts, and much more. With the foundation of two years of engaging content around the Southwest culture, for this release RD2 focused on context and functionality, utilizing the open source Drupal platform, and social media applications like Flickr and YouTube.
