Advertise With Us website for Verizon SuperPages.com

When Verizon SuperPages released a new marketing style guide with a new color palette, they called on RD2 to refresh the "Advertise With Us" section of the site, and add additional focus on new product areas. RD2 came in to provide Information Architecture and Design support to the team. After assessing the requirements for the various pages, looking at competitors and other market leaders, and creating the IA plan, our design team delivered eight potential designs for the website.

The team at Verizon then picked four of the eight designs and said, “We’ll let the users choose the design from these.” We took the four designs into a quick user testing scenario, where several people were shown the designs and asked to choose their favorite overall and pick and choose their favorite elements from each design. Almost overwhelmingly, the users gravitated to the design that ultimately became the new Advertise With Us site.

The implementation of the new site is a great example of not only doing it well, but doing it right. In our business, we have to approach design scientifically. Research and user testing enable us to do that. When a site is made with the user in mind, a company will maximize the reach and impact of their message.

Verizon SuperPages Sales Presentation

Verizon SuperPages requested a PowerPoint-like sales presentation, but with a little extra jazz. Enter Flash. With Flash’s ability to read Text and XML files, RD2 was able to build an animated, easy to navigate, and even easier to update flash presentation, using Text files that can be read and edited on all computers running anything from OS X, Windows, and everything in between.

The benefit is that anyone with a personal computer can update the presentation just by changing a text file — no knowledge of the underlying technology is required. Data, bar graphs, and percentages can also be dynamically created. The benefit of this is that each sales representative can customize a presentation based on his or her personal figures and presentation style.
